Bio


Cristine de Clercy is the Faculty Director of the Democracy Lab and holds the Jarislowsky Chair in the Department of Political Science. Her work explores the dynamics of leadership, democratic institutions, and political behavior in Canada.


Her research interests include leadership studies, election law, and the rise of populism, with a focus on how these forces shape modern governance and political accountability. She brings these themes into the classroom through an interdisciplinary approach to political science education.
